Amna has worked and lived in New York but is now residing outside of Detroit due to the coronavirus. I really appreciated that we were able to meet with a brown artist because they are very underrepresented!
Amna described her work in such beautiful detail and expressed how her work as an assistant to an artist had helped her improve but also changed how she saw her work. Seeing her makeshift airbrush booth was so cool, because she made things work in her own situation. The more that I listen to guest artists talk.
I just learn so much about the mental process of how each person experiences when creating.I like that she spoke about how you shouldn’t confine yourself to limited ideals, and you should appreciate things that you like.
