I am super grateful to have met Merrill Wagner. It was sad to see that she is starting or has been losing memory of her achievements. I was not fully aware of that before entering the class. Her manager spoke about Merrill’s spaces and exhibitions, and even reminded Merrill of places of where she had previously lived. Seeing their relationship was very warming because her manager is doing the best that she could to keep Merrill’s past life alive through us.
What I loved about Merrill’s paintings were choices of color. Her abstract paintings would use neutral colors like grays and greens that would resemble the natural scenery that she was surrounded with growing up.
