I had a great opportunity of meeting sculptor Jessica Stockholder.
When first looking at her artwork, I was very confused. Conceptually I could not understand. The colors grabbed my attention but the physical objects made me question what was going on. And that is what I like about Jessica’s art. She transforms an object that we’d use in our day to day lives and places them to form their own bodies and it’s so cool. I really enjoyed how she described her art because it definitely cleared my mind on what I was seeing. If I can describe her work in one word it would be trippy because of the colors, the movement in the works and the functionality and duality of them.
